About us
We are a women-owned landscape design firm dedicated to creating meaningful outdoor spaces. We believe that functional spaces should be beautiful and beautiful spaces should be functional. And for us, it’s a given that every landscape be good for people and good for the environment. We started Portland Garden Design to help others in our community create outdoor spaces to use and enjoy, while also providing sustenance and habitat for the creatures we need to maintain a healthy ecosystem. We feel extremely fortunate to live in this place with so many others who share these values.

Our Services
Design

This service includes up to two on-site visits to conduct a detailed inventory and analysis of your property, including measuring and creating a scaled base map that documents existing structures, utilities, landscape features, and plant material. Based on your project goals, a comprehensive landscape design is developed featuring proposed new elements, a planting plan with plant selections, and accompanying notes.
Design Orchestration

This service can include a range of support throughout the installation process, such as providing referrals to other qualified experts, collecting and reviewing bids, and conducting an initial walk-through and design review with your contractor. We can act as the main point of contact between you and contractors during installation, procure and receive plants, select substitutions when needed, place plants according to the design for contractor installation, and assist with furniture, fixture, and materials procurement.
Garden Coaching

This service includes a minimum one-hour on-site consultation focused on addressing problem areas, exploring design ideas, identifying plants, and discussing care and overall garden questions. A follow-up email summarizes the discussion, with both one-time and seasonal consultation options available.
